A brilliant start.
Hours back
for your team.
Give every new starter a great welcome without repeating the same talk. We build your business know-how into one clear online induction, ready whenever they are.
Custom pilot build NZ$2,950 + GST · No per-starter build fee
Optional managed hosting $99 + GST/month.
Welcome aboard.
Let’s get you settled.
Your people. Your workplace. Everything in one place.
Give managers time for the conversations that matter.
Your team has better
things to do than
repeat the basics.
New starters need a great welcome. Your managers need their day back. BusinessStart takes care of the repeatable learning, so your people can focus on meeting the team, learning the job and getting settled.
Stop starting
from scratch.
Send one link instead of piecing together documents and explaining the same policies. New starters work through short sections at their own pace and can revisit what they need.
Make it easy
to get it right.
Show what happens here, who helps with what and how to handle common situations. Practical choices and useful feedback make the important information easier to apply.
Keep the welcome.
Lose the repetition.
Give managers a clear handover checklist and first-week conversation guide. Spend time on local familiarisation and coaching, with the core information already covered.
A little less repetition.
A lot more time back.
Think about every welcome talk, policy run-through and repeated explanation. Use your own numbers to explore the manager time you could redirect to more useful work.
40 starters × 60 fewer minutes of repetition
An illustration using your inputs, not a measured result or guarantee. Allow for build/review time, administration and the practical training your team still needs to provide.
See the time saver.
Try it from both sides.
Start with the manager quiz: where does induction take your time? Then try a new starter’s learning and see the local handover. Northline is fictional; the working experience shows what we can tailor to your business.
What would make
your induction easier?
Three quick questions. A useful starting plan. Then try the parts that matter to you.
Northline, its people, locations and procedures are fictional; workplace images are illustrative. Example progress stays in this browser where available; lesson answers are not sent to Micro PLD. The downloadable summary is a demonstration, not a workplace training record or authorisation to work. These role variations demonstrate customisation; the pilot includes one agreed core pathway and additional branches are scoped separately.
Your business.
Your people.
Your way of working.
An office, a warehouse, a field team or a mix of locations: we build around the audience you need to reach. Bring together the essentials now, then scope additional pathways as your needs grow.
Your brand & welcome
Your identity, story, values, key contacts and what good work looks like in your business.
Your real situations
Scenarios based on the decisions your team makes, with feedback that explains the next useful action.
Your policies, made usable
Clear explanations, current document links and acknowledgement prompts in the right place.
Your roles & sites
An agreed audience and local details. Extra role branches, specialist modules and more sites can be quoted.
Your delivery setup
Use your existing learning system, or choose a managed web version that works on phones and computers.
A practical manager toolkit
A local sign-off checklist, completion register and 30-day review guide to connect learning with the job.
You know your business.
We make the learning work.
No need to become a course designer. Nominate one content owner, share your approved material, and give us consolidated feedback. We handle the build.
Bring what you have.
We map your audience, current induction and biggest time drains. Together we agree the topics, delivery setup, local information, scope and timing.
Review a real working version.
We turn your approved material into short lessons, useful examples and checks. Your nominated HR, operations and H&S reviewers shape it through two review rounds.
Welcome the next starter.
We test the approved induction and hand over the course and manager toolkit. Target delivery is 15–20 working days after complete content and scope approval, subject to agreed availability.
One build.
Every new starter.
A smarter use of time.
Start with one business or division. Give your current team and future starters access to the agreed induction, with an organisation-wide internal-use licence for the delivered version.
Already have a learning system?
We can deliver a SCORM 1.2 package, including one compatibility test in your nominated LMS. Your platform manages enrolment, completion records and reporting; its own fees apply.
Want us to host it?
Optional $99 + GST/month from go-live. Managed web hosting, email support and one consolidated batch of minor edits each quarter, up to one hour. Your team maintains the completion register.
Named logins, automated reporting, SSO, HR integrations, translations, specialist policy development, video production and additional learning branches are separately scoped. We agree access and privacy requirements before launch. Editable authoring source and client authoring access are not included.

Make it easy
to say “let’s talk”.
Tell us what is slowing your induction down. We’ll help you work out a useful starting scope.
Will this actually save us time?
The opportunity is in repeated explanations, finding documents and rebuilding the same welcome for each intake. The digital core can cover that material consistently, while managers focus on local checks and coaching. Your result depends on your current process and how you use the induction. Use the calculator above to explore your own assumptions; we do not promise a fixed saving.
How much work is involved for us?
Nominate a content owner, share your approved policies, brand material, contacts and local procedures, then gather consolidated feedback from the people who need to approve it. We structure, write, design and build the learning. The pilot includes two consolidated review rounds.
Can it fit different roles, sites and future changes?
Yes. We agree the right audience, content and delivery arrangement with you. The pilot includes one core pathway and local information for up to three sites. Additional role branches, translations, specialist modules, more sites and major changes are quoted before work begins. Optional hosting includes one batch of minor edits per quarter, up to one hour.
Does online induction replace practical training or ensure compliance?
It provides a consistent digital foundation. Your business remains responsible for approved content, suitable training, supervision, risk controls, local familiarisation and verification of competence. Online completion alone does not certify compliance or authorise someone to do a task.
How do we know who has completed it?
If delivered through your existing LMS, your platform manages user accounts and reporting. With the standard managed web version, your team uses the supplied completion register and manager sign-off process. This public example stores demonstration progress locally; it does not provide central tracking. Automated reporting and named accounts can be scoped separately.
What happens if we stop the hosting plan?
Hosted access ends after the paid period. You keep the internal-use licence for the delivered version and your own records. We agree your delivery and access arrangements before launch. Source authoring files and direct client authoring access are not included.
